As the DVD release schedule for Proper Doctor Who enters its final phase, it's amusing to contemplate the preposterously tenous nature of some of the recent box-sets and their contents.
Admittedly, shoving the last two fully-extant unreleased Cybermen stories together in a box is nothing new, and at the arse-end of the VHS releases, the same thing was just as commonplace. (They did use the "limited edition" excuse though, albeit editions limited to however many copies they chose to print).
Anyway, with the UNIT box-set already in the pipeline for early next year, ("Invasion of the Dinosaurs" and "The Android Invasion", in case you're interested), it will be worth seeing if there are any future releases to rival such bizarre pairings as "The Gunfighters" and "The Awakening".
Yes, they are both set on Earth. Well noticed, 2entertain.
So, apropos of nothing, here's my idea for the next box-set to handily package an unpopular clunker with a marginally more attractive tale.
The Rather-Poorly-Executed Slitty-Eyed Alien Box-Set
Yes, it's "The Sensorites" and "The Happiness Patrol"... together at last!
