No chocolate treats lurk behind these doors. For like everything else around here, it'll probably be slightly harrowing yet simultaneously morally and spiritually fulfilling.

As the countdown to Christmas commences in earnest today, I have been thinking a lot about the simple pleasures that we often forget as we grow up and overcomplicate our lives.
And here is how I choose to symbolise such wholesome simplicity today....
Everyone probably has some cherished childhood memory or other involving fish fingers. Even people who don't like them could perhaps find some positive effect that fish fingers have had on their lives, if pressed.
Some might therefore call them "comfort food", but I call them quite magnificent in conjunction with Golden Savoury Rice and lashings of vinegar.
And you can play Jenga with them too.
Amazing.
