Escape To Danger No.12

What with all the recent IT problems at work recently, I have been reluctant to spend much time sat at home in front of a computer. But to commemorate a recent afternoon spent in Chislehurst Caves, I am delighted to make Serial NNN the latest entry in this occasional series.

(And I have also made the editorial decision to render all future images in glorious black and white, in honour of Doctor Who Weekly).

And there's Pertwee in the Chislehurst thaesium mines. We didn't see any of the alleged Solonian wall markings that remain in existence. But we never found John Bloody Hollis in a laboratory, either.

The splendidly named Garrick Hagon as Ky, here. Script Editor Terrance Dicks was obviously unconcerned that sniggering fanboys would be making jokes about the character's name for many years to come.

And here's Mr Hagon further up the evolutionary ladder, in another one of those photos that had me puzzled for many years.

More location work, but not at Chislehurst. For some reason this photo did the rounds a fair bit, and has stuck in the memory. The man on the far right looks a bit like Fat Unfunny James Corden, but it obviously isn't.

Another shot that makes little sense unless you know the story behind it. Still a nice memorable image, though. (Unfortunately, I can't upload that great shot of Pertwee wagging his finger at a Mutt, because I don't recall seeing it until relatively modern times).

And finally, by far the most memorable image of "The Mutants". Another amazing James Acheson creation that helped make 1970's Who so compelling. And it all helped to keep John Scott Martin in work, too.

It's a shame that photos of Paul Whitsun-Jones and his marvellous stick weren't a common sight back in the day.

Damn, I really want to watch "The Mutants" again very soon.

Mutt-mad, I am!
