One of the many emotions that arise from the whole Jimmy Savile debacle was that of innocence betrayed. Not only the innocence of the direct victims, but also our own more indirect innocence.
Whether this is a guilt thing, I'm not sure. Do we feel guilty because of our unassuming complicity in the innocent enjoyment of a pop culture and light entertainment personality?
Many, many questions, too broad and too deep for this particular forum. But whatever the conflicting emotions, the legacy of the damage and the associations remain.
Then sometimes you just see something that knocks you sideways...
